Not a fan of communal living, her expressions made it clear she had a few non-negotiable desires for a forever home: she wanted to be an only cat - no competing for affection, and she required peace and quiet. Most importantly, she sought human companions with plenty of time to shower her with the devotion she deserved. Safety was a priority, so her new family spent several visits at the sanctuary, earning her trust one slow-blink at a time.

What do Cats Think About Adoption?

One of the things we love about cats is their uncanny ability to broadcast their inner world without saying a word. With a single narrowing of the eyes or a twitch of a whisker, they project their feelings and desires; if we are lucky, they gift us with their silent assessments.

This little girl was an expert in the art of the 'look.' While at the sanctuary, her steady, unblinking gaze declared her sovereign space and her intent to defend and keep it.

After some initial skepticism (and a very expressive furrowed brow) regarding her travel to destinations unknown, she departed for her new kingdom. A month later, one look at her relaxed, softened features tells you everything: life is grand!"
